Scott Christiansen

Sheet Metal CAD Designer and BIM Coordinator

I design and coordinate 3D models of ductwork for fabrication and shop drawings.

Associates degree in Drafting & Design Technology, Level 1 Certified Fire Life Safety Technician, OSHA Disaster Response Training, Local 359 Sheet Metal Union: 4th-year apprentice.
Before MLP I spent 14 years in construction as a flooring contractor. Planning and installing hardwood flooring, laminate, tile, trim, etc. 4 years’ experience with AutoCAD, Revit and other design programs. I graduated ITT Technical Institute with Highest Honors in Drafting and Design Technologies.
Coordinating all of the trades needed for building and construction in the field can consume incredible amounts of time and be very costly. For me to coordinate the ductwork with plumbing, fire protection, electrical, etc., before installing, can save the contractor thousands of dollars in lost working hours.
I enjoy creativity and every day is a learning experience with new materials, methods, software, etc.
A friendly environment that has the workers needs in mind. Hard work is rewarded and recognized regularly. MLP always makes sure our equipment and software are up to date and able to handle the work being performed.
I spend most of my time with my two kids. We regularly take weekend trips to the nearby lakes, camping, sightseeing, hiking, kayaking and much more. I also enjoy woodworking and restoring an old boat I have.
