Shortly after graduating H.S. I began installing fire sprinklers. I continued that
sporadically anytime work was slow elsewhere or if the company I worked for had an
abundance of work and needed some help on the weekends or after work.
I served in the United States Marine Corps as an Airfield Firefighter for 4 years originally
and 2 more after a presidential recall.
I served in OIF 1 in 2003 and OIF 2 in 2004.
I began my career as a sheet metal worker after an honorable discharge in 2005 and
began installing primarily in large commercial or industrial jobsites. (Intel, ON
semiconductors, Tempe & Chandler Microchip, Talking Stick Casino etc.) After traveling
to N.Y. for work at Global Foundries I decided to further my education and began
pursuing an Associates degree in computer aided design at ITT Tech, with a 3.94 GPA and Treasurer of the National Technical Honors Society ITT west Chapter. When ITT
closed, I transferred what credits I could to DeVry University’s bachelor’s degree
Program in Project Management.
People often have a problem understanding how valuable and timesaving the BIM
process can be. Since I’ve been in the installer’s shoes, I try my best to bridge the gap
between the office and the field crew to save time, money and stress to the installers
and management teams we work with.
I love when we as a team can come together and solve constructability or coordination
problems before they impact the project. I try to put myself in an installers mindset and
think what I would do, or absolutely hate to see in every instance.
I value being a great team member by being respectful, accountable, reliable and
positive. I love delivering a quality product and helping our clients meet deadlines.
In my leisure time I enjoy Camping with my beautiful wife of over 19 years and our four children. I also enjoy Hunting, Golfing, Fishing and Skydiving.
I don’t have a favorite movie but my favorite actor is Tom Hanks. I enjoy watching Tom
Hanks movies because he makes you believe that his fictional character is a real person.
In everyone’s careers there will be so many different experiences, some good and some bad. During the best moments we tend to walk a little taller and a little more confident than the day before. During the not so great moments we try to find ways to get back to being great. It is for this reason I am always reminded of this quote by Leonardo da Vinci…
“For once you have tasted flight, you will walk with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been, and there you will long to return.”
